Version 2020.11(27) now on the App Store
We’re happy to announce that PacketCalc Version 2020.11(27) is now live on the App Store. This update brings keyboard shortcuts on iPad, custom protocol, and custom payload capabilities.
New in PacketCalc 2020.11(27)
PacketCalc requires iOS 14.0 as of version 2020.8(45). To see this and future updates, please update your iPhone or iPad prior to visiting the App Store.
Enhancements
UI: Keyboard shortcuts on iPad allow for easy navigation between main sections. Press and hold Command to view the available shortcuts. We’ve tested this with Logitech MX Keys over Bluetooth, Apple’s older Magic Keyboard on 2018 iPad Pro, and Apple’s latest Magic Keyboard on 2019 iPad Pro.
UI: Changed the Pickers in the Overview and Duration sections to use Form-based rather than Wheel-based. Also added appropriate Pickers to each section (by “appropriate” we mean Pickers that result in changes to values in that section).
CAPABILITY: You can now add a Custom Protocol Header
CAPABILITY: You can now add a Custom Payload to simulate traffic generator signatures.
GENERAL: Fixed a couple references in the Help text to obsolete UI elements.
Known Issues
I forgot to add the Custom Payload help text to the main listing in the Help section :-( You can still view this text by changing the value of Custom Payload to non-zero in Calc->Custom Payload and then tapping over to the Packet Overview section and tapping on the value for Payload Custom. I’ll fix this in the next update which should drop in the next couple weeks.
There appears to be a SwiftUI bug where the SideBar highlight does not change when Keyboard Shortcuts are used to jump between sections of the app on iPad.
