PacketCalc on Apple Silicon Macs
Yes, it’s working on M1!
Just received an M1-based Mac Mini to test PacketCalc (iOS version). I’m happy to report that it’s working much better than I imagined. The only change, so far, is that you invoke the context menu to copy to Raw, JSON, or Soulver by right-clicking with your mouse (or Ctl+click) rather than long-clicking. This is what we’d expect on a Mac, so I’m really happy that this comes for free.
Also, the window is resizable and seems to do the right thing in terms of adapting to smaller and larger sizes. Less work for me! :-)
The other thing is that, if you search for PacketCalc on the Mac App Store, you’ll get no results until you select “iPad and iPhone Apps” at the top-left of the search results screen. Then, you’l see PacketCalc listed for $1.99. even if you’ve already purchased it on iOS. Go ahead and click Buy. You’ll be asked if you really want to purchase it. Click yes. Then it’ll say it’s free since you already purchased on iOS. IMHO, this is not a good experience for those who’ve already bought an app on iOS. Sigh!
